14 years married: Stories of how we got here. Countdown Day 4: Last $2….kinda
Countdown to 14 years of #TeamTravis
Day 4: Last $2…..kinda
Regardless of whatever we had going on Trav has ALWAYS made sure to take care of me.
One of the fondest memories of our relationship for me was when he gave me his last $14. I know that may not seem like a lot….but it still means the world to me.
It was early in our relationship and Trav wasn’t making a lot of money. I mentioned to him that I didn’t have money for something I needed (I don’t remember what it was).
Being the supportive man that he is, Trav got off work that Saturday morning and went to cash his paycheck. He put aside the money to pay his bills, and then told me “All I want is some beer and a pack of cigarettes. You can have the rest.”
After getting the small things he wanted from his paycheck he had $14 left and he handed it to me. He said “I hope this covers what you need. If not, let me know.”
I don’t even remember if it did, but it doesn’t matter. The fact that on that day, and still until this day he will pay the bills, take the bare minimum for himself, and then hand over the rest to me is one of the reasons I can’t help but to love this guy.
Stay tuned for Day 5! Only 11 days until our 14th wedding anniversary!
