14 years married: Stories of how we got here. Countdown Day 5: A woman can’t change a flat tire
Countdown to 14 years of #TeamTravis
Day 5: A woman can’t change a flat tire
One of the many great things about my husband is that he married a very independent woman ????
He knows this, so he teaches me how to do a lot of things like how to work his new lawn mower, change a car battery, and yes….even to change a tire.
However, he will NEVER let me do these things on my own. He always feels that he needs to be the one to do these things for me.
Some years ago while I was working about 70 miles away, I ended up getting a flat tire on the way home. I was about 50 miles away and it was snowing in Chicago.
I called my husband just to let him know what happened and that I was okay. He insisted that he drive the 50 miles to change the tire for me. I told him no I would take care of it, but he wasn’t having that at all.
So my husband drove all the way out to no man’s land just to change a tire for me. Not because he didn’t feel like I could do it, but because he wants me to know that he always has my back no matter what.
Stay tuned for Day 6! Only 10 days until our 14th wedding anniversary! Also check out the video post below:
